Who we are
FixTheBuy is a service of Done Yesterday, LLC (a US company, run from Portugal), 733 W. University Dr., Tempe, AZ 85281, USA. Done Yesterday, LLC is the controller of the personal data described here. Because the business is run from Portugal, so we apply the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Privacy contact: nils@fixthebuy.com.
What FixTheBuy does
We check the public pages of US Shopify stores with AI agents (currently Claude and Gemini) to find where an AI shopping agent gets stuck. The free check reads public pages only. It does not log in, buy anything or change anything. Monitor customers give us one Shopify collaborator invite, limited to themes.
What we collect
- Public store data: product, policy and page content that a store publishes openly.
- Business contact data: name, work email and company of people at stores, from public sources and email-lookup providers, so we can contact them about the service.
- Free-check form: the store URL, work email and (optional) name you enter, plus any emails you send us.
- Monitor customers: billing and contact details, and logs of what our collaborator access did in your store.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- Contacting businesses (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We have a legitimate interest in telling stores about a problem that affects their sales. We keep this fair: we use work contact details only, contact people whose role is relevant, say where we found your address, and make opting out easy. We think this does not override your interests, and you can object at any time.
- Running the free check and Monitor (contract, or steps you asked for before a contract, Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Billing and keeping business records (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)).
Reply "stop" and we'll never email you again (we keep only a do-not-contact record). That record is your email address only.
Who we share it with
We use service providers (processors) that act on our instructions:
- AI model providers: Anthropic and Google, to run the store checks.
- Hosting: Netlify (hosting and form submissions).
- Email: Google Workspace (email).
- Payments: Stripe (billing for Monitor).
- Smartlead (email sending).
- Supercenter (email lookup).
- AI workspace and automation tools we use to research public store pages and manage contacts.
We are not partnered with or endorsed by any of these companies, or by Shopify. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
Data may move from the EU to the US, where Done Yesterday, LLC and several providers are based. Where this happens we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified.
How long we keep it
- Outreach contacts: deleted within 30 days of an opt-out, except a do-not-contact entry (email address only) kept so we never email you again; otherwise deleted after 12 months with no engagement.
- Free-check reports and form data: 90 days.
- Customer and billing records: 10 years, as tax and accounting law requires.
- We keep anonymised fix results (no personal data) to improve the service.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to our use of it, and if you object to direct marketing we will always stop. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Email nils@fixthebuy.com. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), www.cnpd.pt.
